Helping those who have represented our country
Newcastle and Hunter Community Health is an approved Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) Community Nursing Provider.
The DVA Program helps those who have represented our country in active service and need practical help to continue living independently in their own home.
The veterans’ home care services you are able to claim that we can provide include personal care, respite care, domestic assistance and safety related home and garden maintenance.
Depending on assessment you may be able to claim up to one-and-a-half hours per week, however there is a small co-payment required for most services (which has a weekly cap).
The Australian Government has published a more detailed information fact sheet outlining the services we can provide
