Looking back on the year that was

Despite the unique challenges of 2021, we are proud to stand strong at the other end stronger than ever.

Thanks to the hard work of our team, the support of clients, and the local business community, we can look back on 2021 with pride and hope for what the new year will bring. Without this support, we would never have been able to continue delivering the standard of care we pride ourselves on. For this, we owe a lot to you.

We hope you enjoy taking a looking back on 2021 with us.

A Christmas message from Alison and Geoff McQueen

Our commitment to better care during COVID-19

We have maintained a strong commitment to the provision of safe and essential healthcare support for our clients throughout the ever-evolving COVID-19 pandemic.

Guided by NSW Health, our team consistently pivoted and implemented the best practices to ensure clients had access to quality health care, despite the challenges of lockdown.

Our staff were provided with specifically tailored infection control and handwashing training, which allowed clients and their families to feel at peace knowing their safety remained our number one priority.

Education around accurate coughing and sneezing etiquette was also passed on to clients and carers, creating a safer environment our team as we delivered our high quality at-home personal care services.

Recognising the efforts of our staff throughout this period, we also presented staff with care packages. This was just a small token of our gratitude, for putting the needs of our clients first and our values front and centre.

Better care starts from within

Earlier this year we partnered with Blue Bus, who have helped us promote a positive organisational culture and maintain quality assurance in all aspects of our work.

The Blue Bus team created a tailored workplace program for our leadership team and employees, which allowed us to effectively navigate the challenges and unpredictability of 2021 by working together as a united front.

We’d like each one of our clients to experience the ‘WOW’ factor from our health support services, which we believe is best achieved when all team members feel empowered and supported themselves.

Setting careers in motion

This year also saw the launch of our structured traineeship program, which is dedicated to upskilling the next generation of people entering the health care industry.

As part of this program, trainees had access to extensive personal growth, career development, and safety resources; all while working among a supportive team of health professionals. If you’d like to learn about these opportunities, click here.

We look forward to the continuation of this career program throughout 2022. The search for caring and passionate team players continues and plans to expand our program is already in motion.

Giving back to those in need

In September, our team once again eagerly sponsored and participated in the Ronald McDonald House Charities Ride for Sick Kids. As a collective, we rode almost 1,000 km and raised over $5,000 in support of sick kids and their families.

This pedal power allowed us to contribute 33 overnight stays at Ronald McDonald House.

Ending on that high note, our team would like to wish all our clients, their families, and the local business community a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
