Assisting with Companion Service For Older People

Many Australians aged 65 or above live alone or have no one to support them daily or provide companionship. NHCH offers affordable and comprehensive aged care support services to help such people.

This involves a trained individual providing companionship and emotional support to elderly people. This covers healthy social interaction, emotional well-being, and friendly support. Our team can also assist you with daily activities like running errands, personal care, safety, and basic housekeeping. The goal is to act as a friend and companion to help older adults combat loneliness and live joyfully.

You may be eligible for companion care assistance from My Aged Care or get a subsidy depending on your specific situation. If you do not already have a Home Care Package and want to determine your eligibility, contact NHCH. Our experts can check your eligibility for home care as well as help you apply for a care package if you’re eligible. If not, we also provide private-funded assistance.

How Can We Help?

As an approved Aged Care provider, NHCH provides companionship care assistance to help older people stay happy and healthy by maintaining regular social interaction with other adults.

In-home companion care services from NHCH involve expert caregivers offering emotional and friendly support to encourage your self-confidence and independence. Our comprehensive assistance service covers–

Social interaction: Engaging you in conversation, sharing, playing games, attending meetings and events, and spending time with other older adults to combat loneliness.

Emotional support: Providing a friendly ear, listening to your problems, offering encouragement and support, and helping manage emotions.

Basic daily assistance: Helping with basic household and housekeeping duties like cleaning and running errands.

Mobility support: Taking the elderly or accompanying them on walks, helping them attend meetings and get around the home, and arranging transportation to appointments.

Mental activities: Engaging in activities that promote mental well-being like reading, puzzles, or discussions.

Why NHCH?

NHCH is a government-approved provider of aged care services. We are an Australia-owned business working with a mission to deliver the best aged care support and services at the most affordable prices. We ensure you get the most out of your Home Care funding while receiving top-quality care.

Our companionship assistance services for older people cost less and offer more than competitors. That means you’ll receive more attention, care, and benefits than what you pay for. We ensure your home care budget is spent on improving your health and well-being, including providing companionship to avoid loneliness.

As a top home care provider in the Hunter, we employ highly trained and compassionate caregivers. We only use our in-house support workers and never outsource through other agencies, so you can expect to see similar faces when you hire assistance from us.

Consumer directed care

The Regional Assessment Service will work with you to develop a personalised home support plan tailored directly to your needs. Assessors send a ‘referral for service’ to appropriate providers, such as Newcastle and Hunter Community Health, to let them know you are a new client and would like to engage their services. The provider will contact you to make further arrangements.

Alternatively, if you would like to visit or speak to a service provide to decide if they are the right fit for you, a ‘referral code’ can be sent which allows them to view your client record. The provider will review your identified needs and determine how they can assist. You then make the final decision on whether or not to engage their services.

With our years of experience in the aged care industry and diverse skill sets, we can help you receive the best companion assistance tailored to your unique needs. Call us today!
