What is NDIS Life Skills and Development?
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provides funding for Life Skills and Development Support, helping individuals with disabilities grow their diverse life skills to lead fulfilling lives. Life skills can have different meanings for different people. For individuals with disabilities, these refer to fundamental skills that enable them to independently perform various daily duties and manage challenges arising from their disabilities. We at NHCH provide tailored support and plans to help participants develop skills.
People with disabilities, including physical, cognitive, or emotional disabilities, may have to face various challenges impacting their day-to-day lifestyle. Physical disabilities may impact independence and mobility, while cognitive or emotional disabilities can impact your ability to interact with others. Regardless of your disability type, NDIS Life Skills and Development Support can help you develop crucial life skills, fostering independence and cultivating confidence.

The Regional Assessment Service will work with you to develop a personalised home support plan tailored directly to your needs. Assessors send a ‘referral for service’ to appropriate providers, such as Newcastle and Hunter Community Health, to let them know you are a new client and would like to engage their services. The provider will contact you to make further arrangements.
Alternatively, if you would like to visit or speak to a service provide to decide if they are the right fit for you, a ‘referral code’ can be sent which allows them to view your client record. The provider will review your identified needs and determine how they can assist. You then make the final decision on whether or not to engage their services.
We are a trusted NDIS services provider with a proven track record for timely and qualified assistance. Contact us for Life Skills and Development Support under the NDIS.
