What is NDIS Mental Health Support?
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provides funding to arrange support coordination services for registered participants with mental health conditions. If you or a loved one is seeking NDIS funding to manage mental health related to your disability, contact NHCH today to determine your eligibility or get a personalised NDIS plan.
NDIS mental health coordination and ongoing support services aim to help people receive personalised support based on their goals and to help them recover from specific mental health challenges.
What mental health support does NDIS fund?
NDIS funds a professional support worker or plan manager to help you understand your plan and goals, receive the best care matching your needs, and build crucial life skills promoting your happiness and independent living.
It can fund support coordinators to help you get the most out of your NDIS plan and use it to achieve your health goals. The funding covers services from registered NDIS providers, including personal, healthcare, and community services to help you build confidence and skills to coordinate your mental wellbeing.
For people with more complex medical conditions, NDIS can fund support to manage daily challenges and ensure consistent health improvements. The NDIS funding is available only to eligible people with mental illness related to their disability.

The Regional Assessment Service will work with you to develop a personalised home support plan tailored directly to your needs. Assessors send a ‘referral for service’ to appropriate providers, such as Newcastle and Hunter Community Health, to let them know you are a new client and would like to engage their services. The provider will contact you to make further arrangements.
Alternatively, if you would like to visit or speak to a service provide to decide if they are the right fit for you, a ‘referral code’ can be sent which allows them to view your client record. The provider will review your identified needs and determine how they can assist. You then make the final decision on whether or not to engage their services.
We ensure everyone under the NDIS can access our top-quality services. Our team is compassionate and ready to help with all your needs, enabling you to live your life independently. Call us today.
