The recently introduced improvements to pricing transparency and comparability for services enabling older Australians to remain living independently in their home longer are a welcome reform in support of consumer driven care.
All providers are required to publish prices for services including personal care, nursing and social support on the My Aged Care Service Finder and can no longer charge separately for business-related administration costs.

Government funding to help provide further aged care benefits
The Australian Government has boosted funding for aged care support services by $553 million in recent years.
Measures funded include 10,000 new home care packages which offer services like clinical care, nursing and mobility help, nutrition, hydration, meal preparation and home maintenance services to enable older Australians to stay in their homes longer.
