Pounding the pavement for World Kindness Day

To mark World Kindness Day on Friday 13 November, we will be joining local wellness advocate Michelle Boundy in her quest to encourage more kindness in everyday life.

As a recently named Community Champion for the Stay Kind Foundation, Michelle has created the Stay Kind Bathers Way 50 Challenge. She’ll be walking a circuit from Merewether Beach to King Edward Park, taking in the picturesque views of the Newcastle coastline, until she reaches her goal of 50km.

Michelle will be joined throughout the challenge by prominent local community members and representatives from businesses, helping her to promote the importance of kindness and to raise funds for the Stay Kind Foundation.

Our team of dedicated nurses will be among those to join in the Stay Kind Bathers Way 50 Challenge in a show of support for the stay kind message.

Supporting a good cause

Managing Director Alison McQueen said the team was pleased to be part of such a positive initiative.

“Kindness is an inherent trait for those in the nursing profession and that’s something we really need to celebrate,” Alison said.

“2020 has been a particularly challenging year for those in the healthcare profession and the kindness shown to them by the public has been heart-warming.

“Being kind to others is one of the easiest ways to make a difference in someone’s life. A simple smile and a friendly ‘hello’ costs us nothing but can mean the world to those on the receiving end.

“We also encourage our team and clients to be kind to themselves. The importance of self-care and making time for activities that improve your health and wellbeing cannot be overstated.” Alison and the team will join Michelle on the Bathers Way during the World Kindness Day event in support of her 50km goal. It is expected to take Michelle close to 10 hours to complete her mission
